WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CAR?

EVAN: "That’s a great question. The 86 background has always had a special place in my life. The AE86 Trueno will forever be a classic JDM legend. When I found out Toyota was tackling a new project with the Trueno in mind, I knew I had to have one. I remember being told back in 2012 that the FRS was finally at a local Toyota dealership of mine. I quickly grabbed my Dad and ran to the dealership to check it out. I knew eventually I’d own one of these cars. Here we are later being dreams into reality!"

WHATS WAS THE MAIN GOAL WHEN THE BUILD STARTED?

EVAN: "Everyone knows the 86 chassis is very saturated. When you go to a car show you intend seeing multiple of these cars at the show. I always thought I could find a way to make my own style flow with one of these chassis. The main goal was to create a different, yet simple 86 with a presence. I feel like I was able to achieve that with the custom body work, and aggressive stance."

DO YOU HAVE A UNIQUE STORY BEHIND THE CAR OR BUILD?

EVAN: "I actually do, I am a big fan of 326 Power and their builds in Japan. If you’re familiar with the Lexus LC500 build, you’ll find my color scheme familiar. My intentions with the car were to have a crazy yellow paint job, five spoke wheels with blue faces, and brushed aluminum lips. The color of the car was actually an accident. My painter and I messed around with quite a few different colored flakes that were able to change the color of the Candy Paint. However, it turned out better than I originally intended!"

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS FOR THE CAR?

EVAN: "Camber is amazing, it’s a very unique style that will separate your car from others. Of course, there’s a lot of negatives to it more than positives. I will eventually get tired of buying tires. The future plans for the exterior will be to have more of a function/form stance with less camber. The interior will be getting a half cage/harness bar, and of course harnesses for my seats. With the wide aggressive look of the car it’ll definitely need a turbo charger kit to back that up!"

I
S THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY IF YOU COULD GO BACK?

EVAN: "There’s really not, I think it all tied together very well!"

SHOUTOUTS

EVAN: "There’s a ton of people I would like to shout out that helped me on the car. Just know that if you were a part of this project your help/time is appreciated. Thank you to my girlfriend Airi Jacla for always being patient with me while I put hours of work in on cars. Thank you to Kevin Griffin for painting the car. Thank you Christian for the photos. Thank you to the Slammedenuff team for always having awesome car shows. Also I’d like to shoutout my brand Deviant, give us a follow @Deviant.usa on Instagram!"
