What made you choose this car?
Mike: "I wanted the performance of the GTI but the extra space and functionality of the Jetta. Everyone chooses to modify the GTI so I wanted to be a little different and do another GLI. I daily drive this and haul a lot of stuff in the trunk so the extra space for that and my air setup is a huge plus."
What was the main goal when the build started?
Mike: "I wanted something that I could daily drive as a functional car to and from work but still be nice enough to show it off on the weekend. The air suspension was a must have."
Do you have a unique story behind the car or build?
Mike: "Its not uncommon to see a lot of nice builds out there, so seeing another bagged Volkswagen is rather normal in this car scene but for me personally, this was a big milestone for me because for years I've been saying I'm going to bag this car (last 3 cars) and build it the way I want to but financially I couldn't make that happen. So seeing the car the way it is now is rather a big deal to me, on a personal level. Now my friends and family won't have to hear me say it anymore (lol). This was literally a dream for me, even though it may seem insignificant for most."
What are your future plans for the car?
Mike: "I definitely want to run some custom 3-piece wheels next year, redo my trunk setup to something a little more unique but still remain functional. A few cosmetic things and possibly get the motor tuned to gain a little more power but nothing crazy."
Do you have any shoutouts?
Mike: "I'd like to thank the Wheel Lab for supplying me the wheels and providing excellent customer service throughout the process. I'd also like to give thanks to my family and friends for supporting my passion and always giving me a hand if I needed it."
